LEIGH ANNE BOWLING, J.D., LL.M. (Taxation)

Leigh Anne Bowling left the Tax & Estate Planning Department of a very large Virginia law firm in early 2008 to form Leigh Anne Bowling, JD, LLM, PC.  She is licensed to practice law in Virginia and Ohio.  Leigh Anne received her B.A. degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989.  She earned her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (Ohio) in 1993 where she served as a Public Policy Clinic Fellow and Research Editor of the Law Review.  In 1999 she earned her Masters of Law (LL.M.) in Taxation from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

Leigh Anne began her legal career in civil litigation in Ohio until she became actively involved in assisting dentists, doctors, and veterinarians with practice transitions, valuations, and related legal services in 1999.  Her current law practice is concentrated in the related areas of estate and trust planning, estate and trust administration, closely-held family and non-family business formation and succession planning (including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and veterinary practice transitions), the formation and operation of tax-exempt organizations, asset protection planning, tax planning, guardianships, conservatorships, and healthcare law.  Leigh Anne enjoys working with individuals, families, and business owners from all walks of life to help them reach their personal, professional and financial goals for the future.  

Leigh Anne has served as a speaker for the National Business Institute (NBI) regarding Virginia Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and has served as a volunteer speaker in the Wills for Heroes Program sponsored by the Norfolk-Portsmouth Bar Association.  She is a member of WealthCounsel (a nationwide network of tax and estate planning attorneys), the Hampton Roads Estate Planning Council, the Hampton Roads Gift Planning Council, the Virginia Beach Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.  She is the immediate past President of Sylvan Lake Homeowners Association, Inc. and a current member of its Board of Directors.  She is also a volunteer with the elderly in her capacity as a Pastoral Care Committee Member of her church.
